VPS for a small SaaS application
I’m preparing to launch a small SaaS application and need to choose a VPS provider. The application will run on Node.js with PostgreSQL, and I expect relatively low traffic at first, but I want enough room to scale without moving everything immediately.
I’ve been considering hostpro.com because their KVM VPS plans provide root access and dedicated resources. That seems useful for running the application, database, and background jobs with more predictable performance.
For a new SaaS project, would you start with 2–4 vCPUs and 4–8 GB RAM, or is it better to leave more headroom from the beginning? I’m mainly interested in reliability, storage performance, and how easy it is to upgrade later.
