Moving a Magento store from shared hosting — where to start?

I have a small Magento store that has become increasingly difficult to run on its current hosting plan. Catalog indexing and background tasks are the main problems.

I’m considering moving to a VPS with 8 vCPUs, 16 GB RAM and NVMe storage. My budget is approximately $45–50 per month.

I found hostpro.com while researching VPS providers, but I’m not sure whether this budget is realistic for Magento or if I should expect to spend more.

For anyone running Magento on a VPS, what configuration would you recommend for a relatively small store?
